June 2nd was our one year anniversary of being a family. I still can't believe how fast the year has gone and so much has happened during that time. Anita was just starting to crawl, took baths in the sink and was adjusting to a new life with us. Now she is running, stretches out in the bath tub and can touch both ends and sometimes gets upset when its time to leave the fun at gma and gpa's house. She is an amazing little girl with so much personality. I thought I would have so much to teach her and instead she's teaching me every day. We praise God every day she is with us and also ask God to help her with understanding when she is older. On the 2nd, Anita woke up to a doll house she has been wanting and many hugs/kisses from mom and dad. She spent the day at home with dad while I went to work. After work we went to dinner at El Ranchito in SSC. One of our favorite spots and we also toured SSC to look at the rising flood waters. Friday was the start of my four day weekends and we spent a lot of time just hanging out/cleaning house and getting ready for the weekend. Saturday, we took Brenda and Kristina to the Sioux Falls Zoo with us. Holly and the kids were supposed to meet us but could not get a ride. Our friend Sarah did come and meet us so it was a fun day. This was Anita's first time at the zoo and she had fun running through and seeing the animals. Not a big fan of the peacock which would yell loudly. She enjoyed watching us feed the animals but did not want to do that herself until the end when she did have fun throwing food to the ducks and fish in the pond area. Seems like her favorite animal was the squirrel monkey so we will have to go back and see those again. Kristina is getting a little old for this zoo so she may not go back again but we'll join her at the Omaha zoo soon. Jim spent the day fishing and golfing yesterday as he does have some time off from work. Today we had an open house, spent time playing, went for a walk, visited our friend Rhonda, played with Brenda, Kristina and gma, then came home, grilled out, watered the grass, went for a ride to SSC again and had an ice cream at DQ. Now I'm just realizing why we're all so tired. Anita is enjoying being in the backyard watering, feeding birds and filling up the bird bath. She is saying more words to match her activities too and said grass, cow, horse, duck and truck this week. So many more I can't remember but she is working hard at that and also finding new hiding places.
