Adenoid Removal
March 17th, Anita's second St. Patrick's day will be spent at the surgery center getting her Adenoids out. Went to Sarah Powell, ENT to get another opinion and some help for Anita's ongoing health problems. She feels it is underlying allergies that would be greatly improved by taking out the Adenoids. If this doesn't work then we will begin talking about tonsils but she feels she is too young for that yet. Felt good to have the nurse and then the doctor both sit down and talk to us about what has been going on instead of the quick two minute check and shove us out the door. Difficult part was listening to her scream and cry while the audiologist was checking her hearing. He was an older man that tried very hard to get her to relax and offered her toys/books and even stickers to which she replied with a loud NO. Kristina went to a different ENT the next day and she will get tubes on the 16th and possible removal of her adenoids. We'll have to sick little girls for a few days and then hopefully they will both be feeling better then they have in awhile. While Kristina has been ill, Anita has been caring for her by sitting by her and patting her nicely. Today she was helping Brenda brush her hair and sitting next to her on the bed. Anita definitely understands not feeling well. She has been a lot better since finishing her antibiotic and starting on Singulair but there have been very few days where she hasn't also taken cold medicine, ibuprofen and tylenol. Poor kid knows all about medication too. She also went to her first dentist appointment this week and is working on getting a couple more teeth in. Not sure if it's the teeth, illness or singulair that has been waking her up but for about 10 days she has been getting up during the night. A couple nights ago it was four times and I am now on auto pilot and trying to remember what I am doing at work. Hoping to get in a few naps with her this weekend. She is super cuddly and growing a lot. She is getting better at dancing and her and Kristina enjoy dancing to a game on the WII. I definitely see gymnastics and dance class in the future. While giving her a bath the other night I started to sing and she stood up to dance while rubbing the soap on herself. Every day she suprises me and makes me laugh. Cannot wait to spend more time with her this summer. One thing I'll have to see is Kristina riding her bike in the basement while Anita is chasing her around. They have a lot of fun with pa.
